PCSL & IFJ Families,
First, we want to say thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time, and also provide a few updates on how the Illinois Fire Juniors and PCSL are planning for our future in response to COVID-19.
We want you to know in addition to serving as board members, we are also coaches and parents of players who want to be on the field with our teams just as much as you do. We have to balance this with the guidance provided by our governing bodies as well as city and state guidelines to ensure we get through this together.
Our commitment to your family is that we will continue to communicate the best we can, and as soon as we have information to share. We hope everyone is doing what you can to protect yourself, your family, friends and your community during this time.
Our goal across the organization is to provide each player and family with the full soccer experience to the level which we are able during this time. With the guidance provided by IYSA and US Soccer last week, we are holding off on all events through April 15th. This impacts our original planned start date of April 3rd and 4th, however, we are looking at options to provide players with the full 6 games. At this time, we are tentatively planning for a kickoff the weekend of April 17th and playing six games, taking a weekend off on May16th and concluding the weekend of May 30th.
We know that situations develop rapidly and we will share updates as we have them, but will provide an update no later than April 10th. If you have questions in the interim, please email Pam Bauman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also - the PCSL office will remain closed through April 15th, however, Pam and Becky continue to be available by email. We are currently working to reroute the PCSL office phone number for remote monitoring and response, however, email is likely the best option during this time.
Again, our philosophy and goal across the organization is to provide each player and family with the full soccer experience to the level which we are able during this time. The schedules for tournaments and games for our travel teams are being monitored and reviewed and decisions around scheduling will be on a team by team basis. We understand our teams have tournaments scheduled across a variety of locations over the next several weeks. We will be in contact with each of these host teams and will share more information with the teams as it becomes available.
Similar to our communication with PCSL players and families, this situation is developing and updating rapidly and we will share updates with you as we have them, but will provide an update no later than April 10th. If you have questions in the interim, please email Tammy Stauffer at TammyStauffer@illinoisfirejuniors.com.
TOPSoccer Updates -
Following advice from the CDC and other experts for this particular community, we are sorry to announce that we will be cancelling the TOPSoccer session for the spring. We plan to resume the TOPSoccer program in the Fall, and will start recruitment of players and buddies at that time. We appreciate all who were planned to participate in the program and are excited to work with you all in the future!

Spring 2020 Season
We are in a “holding pattern” regarding the spring season.
Please check above for the latest updates.
PCSL is a recreational youth soccer league offering soccer to children ages 4 to 19. It is our mission as a nonprofit organization to cultivate the physical, mental, and emotional growth and development of youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and ability.
PCSL encourages participation in youth soccer for what it is - youngsters having fun. Coaches, parents and spectators should show only good adult behavior on the sidelines and act as role models for the younger players.
PCSL relies on volunteers to coach our teams. We appreciate the time, effort and dedication our volunteers give! Volunteers make a unique and valuable contribution to the League, the kids, their families and the community.
