A rule change will be put in place for U9’s and U10’s effective immediately. The fact sheets on the website will be updated to reflect this.

The changes are as follows: When the goalkeeper has possession of the ball the opposing team drops back to their half of the field (just past the center line). Once the opposing team is behind the center line the goalkeeper can pass, throw or roll the ball into play (no punts or drop kicks). If the goalkeeper punts or drop kicks the ball, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense.

For goal kicks, the same rule will apply. The opposing team will drop back to their half of the field (just past the center line) and cannot advance until the ball is put into play. This change has been put in place to encourage players to build out from the back in a less pressured setting and follows the guidelines put forth by US Soccer for 7v7 games.
