Prairie Cities Soccer League, in partnership with Illinois Fire Juniors, is offering a Program for U5 & U6 Boys & Girls who fall within the U5 & U6 age division birth date range.

U5 & U6 programs will provide players, parents and coaches who are new to the game an introduction to soccer in a positive nurturing environment. Craig Lee, Youth Technical Director and FC Central Illinois professional staff will oversee the program.

New for the Fall 2021 season, the U5 & U6 programs will be held at Game Time Gym, 404 Olympia Dr, Bloomington, IL 61704.  Being indoors is a huge benefit as we will not have to battle the weather & wind playing outdoors brings.  It also allows us to a provide a more organized, controlled and positive learning environment for your player.

PCSL uniforms are not required for the program.

The U5 & U6 programs will begin the week of August 23 and will last for 6 weeks.  Sessions will be Monday through Thursday from 5pm-6pm for U5 and 6pm-7pm for U6.  Each session is limited to 40 participants.  Your child will attend just 1 night per week.  Players will have a combination of training and scrimmage in each 1-hour session.

All U5/U6 Fall sessions are full.

*The IYSA Emergency Medical Release and Liability Waiver and *the IYSA Communicable Disease Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement is required in order for your child to participate in practices and games. You must download and complete the waivers (below) and submit 2 signed copies of the IYSA Emergency Medical Release & Liability Waiver and 1 copy of the IYSA Communicable Disease Agreement by mail, fax, or email to the PCSL office immediately upon completion of this registration.

PCSL is a recreational soccer league for Kindergarten through High School age players.

The League is a member of the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA). PCSL is a not-for-profit organization that relies primarily on volunteers. All of the coaches, Board Members and team helpers are volunteers.

PCSL's philosophy is Everyone Plays.

• Separate divisions for boys & girls at U7 through U12, U14 & HS is co-ed
• U7 & U8 Games will be played on Saturdays at GameTime Gym.  U9-HS Games will be played on Saturdays at the PCSL Complex.  All games, typically between 8am-4pm
• 6 games in Fall & 6 games in Spring
• Practices held during week by a volunteer coach. Each coach sets his/her own practice days, time and location, this will be communicated in August by coach
• Volunteer coaches needed for each team. Please consider coaching your child's team!
• Uniforms are required

PCSL forms teams, to the extent possible, based on the location the player lives in. We do not look at specific neighborhoods/addresses, but only the player’s location code. Birth date, gender and location are the primary criteria for assigning players to teams at the beginning of every season. Location involves the residence of players as well as the residence of the closest available volunteer coach.

You need to know what your Location Code is BEFORE you begin the on-line registration process.  Your Location Code can be found by locating where you live on PCSL's Location Map. Location-based teams tend to be reasonably balanced by skill, make efficient use of available practice fields throughout McLean County, and keep commuting distances at a minimum for most families. The League continues to refer to school as a secondary consideration when possible. Be aware that PCSL does not assign players based on last year's team, carpooling arrangements, coach preferences, scheduling conflicts and other individual requests. Please do not make these requests when registering.

Uniforms -- Required for U7-HS age divisions.

You will need to purchase the PCSL uniform shirts/shorts at Read’s Sporting Goods.  They are located at 812 IAA Drive in Bloomington.

The PCSL uniform consists of:

-2 PCSL T-Shirts (Blue/Gold)

-Shorts (Blue)

-2 Pairs of Socks (Blue/Gold)

Shin guards are required and can be purchased at Read’s as well, if you wish.  In addition, you may need to obtain shoes, soccer ball and a water bottle.  Tennis shoes or soccer cleats are acceptable.  Baseball cleats are NOT allowed.

The average cost of the 2 shirts (blue & gold), blue shorts, 2 socks (blue & gold) and basic shin guards is $45.

$120 for Full year (Fall 2021 & Spring 2022) *

$85 for Fall 2021 Only & Spring Only 2022 (Spring Only fee due at time of placement in spring 2022) *

*Register April 1 or later, $30 late fee is added to the player fee.

Scholarships for reduced registration fees available to those who fall within income guidelines.
